For more than 12 years I have been trying to decipher the intriguat secrets of computer generated imagery and with every mistake I’m a step closer. Arduous work, clicks, sweats and tears following two Bachelor Degrees set me on this path, chasing my dreams and loving every minute of it.
Every project is a challenge; every image, no matter how big or small, is the reflection of my skills and artistic abilities so I treat it with the same respect and attention: ‘you are only as good as your last work’ they say, and they are right. There is no clear line between right and wrong in the art world, but everybody can see and recognise a well made image and everybody has an opinion. This is making the artistic endeavour harder than any other production and every little thing counts.
So armed with an obsessive attention to detail, skills acquired over the years and with my artistic bone flexed, I am waiting for you, my friend, my client, to give me my next project, to give me the opportunity to shine!
Me? I’m easy! My wife and my children are keeping me sane and busy, my bike is keeping me sharp and my travels are keeping me in tune with the beauty of this world. I am funny and always with a big smile on my face… so don’t be a stranger!
Mihai Balais is a story teller, a scholar and an adventurer, living in beautiful New Zealand, following meaningful, extremely well researched ideas, writing poetry, theatre plays, philosophy and fiction, looking for truth in the most unbiassed way, searching for beauty with humour in the darkest spaces. Trying to understand God in the most analytical way possible, I portray in fiction and in rhyme a life well spent, so far, and thoroughly enjoyed throughout its intense highs and lows, a life still raging on, filtered through the lens of a well-educated mind.
